Pedro Pablo Peña, Founder & Director of the Miami Hispanic Cultural Art Center (MHCAC), was born in Cuba and is the driving creative force behind the MHCAC and three of the most recognized arts organizations in Miami; The Miami Hispanic Ballet and International Ballet Festival of Miami, one of the most important Ballet Festivals in the United States, the very successful Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami and the Creation Art Center.

Mr. Peña has been honored for more than his artistic achievements, bestowed on him for his tireless work in the arts and preservation of the Cuban Ballet heritage in exile. In 2005 Miami-Dade County proclaimed Pedro Pablo Peña Day, presenting Mr. Peña with the “Key to the City.” Most recently, Mr. Peña received the “Key to the City of Miami Beach” and was chosen to be one of the elite judges of the prestigious world dance awards, Benois de la Dance, in 2011.
