Our future depends on you
The Miami Hispanic Cultural Art Center (MHCAC) has found a new home for creative expression and collaboration where Hispanic Dance, Theater and Fine Arts are taught, performed, and experienced. The beautiful historic landmark building, the JW Warner House, and the complimentary shining new studio space, will also become the anchor for the popular and successful Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) company and school, soon to be recognized as the White House of the Ballet! When you give to the New Construction & Renovation Campaign, you are helping to make this vision a reality and become a part of this special new landmark that will be an important and integral part of South Florida for generations to come.
Choices for giving
There are plenty of ways to support the MHCAC. As an individual, corporation or foundation, you can give a gift that will go directly towards the renovation & construction project. Or elect to have your donation fund scholarships & performances. All gifts to the campaign, outside of those who wish to remain anonymous, will be recognized on-site at the MHCAC, in publications, performance programs, publicity and much more.
Giving is easy, with many available options and accompanying Benefits:
- Online. Give directly to the New MHCAC Construction & Renovation Campaign. Email contact@hispanicculturalartcenter.org to find out more or to set up an appointment to discuss your preferred level of giving and benefits. In kind services are also welcome!

- By mail. Send a check made payable to the Miami Hispanic Ballet (MHB is the umbrella 501 c-3 nonprofit organization for MHCAC) to: 900 SW 1st Street, Miami, FL 33130. You may include a letter to specify what you would like your gift to support.

Naming Opportunities
- When you choose to make a major gift, your generosity will be commemorated on the new facility itself, or…
- Make a gift with a particular area of the Center in mind! Maybe your focus is on the studios for classes and rehearsal, perhaps the art gallery.
- If you wish you could provide CCBM scholarships for deserving disadvantaged students or support for CCBM company Season, principal dancers, orchestra or a new ballet production.
As an individual, naming will signal your generosity and commitment to the Arts establishing a legacy that will echo your goodwill for decades to come.
As a corporation naming opportunities provide your company a positive public image with the large and influential Hispanic market, generating interest in your name and products. It’s also a great way to demonstrate your company’s commitment to the arts and education, bolstering your philanthropic leadership in the community.
Please call Karen Eva Couty at 305-549-7199 and make an appointment to discuss any naming opportunities and the benefits to you or your company for the new Miami Hispanic Cultural Art Center.
Goals
The New Renovation & Construction Campaign is a public and private partnership. The MHCAC has so far received $1,100,000 for the purchase of the property: a grant of $1million from the Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and a Knight Foundation award of $100,000. We have set a preliminary goal to raise matching funds that will pay for the historical renovation and new construction, and to begin creating our endowment to sustain the Miami Hispanic Cultural Art Center and its programs in the new facility for years to come.
The MHCAC has made considerable progress with the New Renovation & Construction Campaign, but your support brings us closer every day to our target opening date in the Fall of 2011. The success of the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM), the Miami Hispanic Ballet’s XVI International Ballet Festival of Miami (IBFM), considered one of the most important in the United States, and the Creation Art Center’s (CAC) Hispanic theater demonstrates our serious artistic capabilities, but we need your help to bring these three organizations together under one roof!
- Why does Miami need a new Hispanic Cultural Art Center?
- What will MHCAC bring to the public when the new Center opens?
- How long will construction take?
- Will other groups be able to rent or use the new Center for rehearsals and events?
Because a Center such as this does not currently exist in Miami and it is high time that the door is opened to our Culture, enriching the community and helping our artists to reach their full potential.
The new facility will broaden our organizations options to reach the public through new formats. The Miami Hispanic Cultural Art Center’s live transmissions will have a great focus on what is happening with all the different programs taking place in the MHCAC; on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and our Website. The MHCAC will present master classes by renowned national and international teachers, an opportunity for talented Hispanic artists to display their work at the Center’s Gallery, an educational Dance film series, Black Box Theater and play readings of great Hispanic authors, and outreach to the disadvantaged, children and seniors of our community. The CCBM & IBFM will continue to present their Season performances in different venues in South Florida but now will have a permanent home for classes and full rehearsals in the new “White House of the Ballet”.
Construction and Renovation for the Project will be handled in one phase:
Phase 1, includes renovation of the historic JW Warner House, the parking lot, a retail shop and construction of MHCAC’s new studios. It is currently scheduled for completion in 2011.
Yes. MHCAC will own the Center but outside of the MHCAC’s regular activities, several spaces will be available from time to time upon request.
